Indígenas de Ucayali marchan contra Ley de la Selva

Varios miles de indígenas de los pueblos Shipibo, Konibo, Ashaninka, Yine y Cocama recorrieron ayer las principales calles de la ciudad de Pucallpa para pedir al Estado peruano archivar los proyectos de Ley 840 y 2133 o Ley de la Selva. A la marcha pacífica, considerada una de las más grandes manifestaciones indígenas realizadas en la región, se sumaron estudiantes, profesionales y alcaldes indígenas.

Los manifestantes denunciaron que las iniciativas legislativas atentan contra los derechos sociales, culturales y económicos de los pueblos indígenas de la amazonía peruana.

El proyecto 840, mal llamado Ley de la Selva, pretende entregar en venta las tierras deforestadas para fines de reforestación y agroforestería.

El proyecto 2133 pretende otorgar para su aprovechamiento por terceros las restingas o tierras inundables, lo que afectaría a las poblaciones ribereñas.

La profesora indígena Segundina Cumapa, que preside el Foro Permanente de los Pueblos Indígenas, expresó que en pleno Siglo 21 la llamada Ley de la Selva del gobierno aprista pretende despojarnos de nuestras tierras ancestrales.
Las leyes que el gobierno de Alan García promueve, supuestamente para generar trabajo, violan el Convenio 169 de la OIT y la Declaración de la ONU sobre los Derechos de los Pueblos Indígenas, expresó Cumapa.
Daysi Zapata, presidenta de la Organización Regional Aidesep Ucayali, manifestó que tales iniciativas no consideran la participación de los pueblos indígenas ni toman en consideración sus derechos colectivos, como el derecho a la consulta previa, libre e informada.
